Cinema Contour

Fixed wall screens are the perfect choice for a dedicated theater because they provide a perfectly flat viewing surface. The Cinema Contour features a specially designed angled wall frame that provides high structural strength and serves as a masking border for the screen surface. The Cinema Contour frame has a standard matte black finish. A Pro-Trim (LAVS) finish can also be ordered for additional light absorption. Cinema Contour is available in custom sizes with Da-Mat, High Contrast Da-Mat, Cinema Vision, High Contrast Cinema Vision, Pearlescent, Da-Tex, Dual Vision or Audio Vision viewing surfaces.

Pro Imager Horizontal Masking System

Designed and constructed to allow for the use of multiple formats, the Pro Imager masking system offers versatility to a fixed wall screen. Offering quality and convenience, it electronically masks the screen to vary the aspect ratio. The Pro Imager Horizontal masks the screen from an HDTV format to NTSC format by lowering a mask equally on each side of the viewing area. Also available on the Pro Imager, the Pro-Trim (LAVS) is a fabric frame covering that aesthetically enhances the appearance of the installation while absorbing light that surrounds the viewing area. Custom sizes are also available.

Da-Lift

The Da-Lift is a popular choice to help maintain room aesthetics. A durable, heavy-duty electric ceiling lift raises or lowers video projectors weighing up to 300 pounds with the push of a button. The rack and pinion chain drive lift mechanism allows for quiet operation while maintaining precise travel distance. It provides a wide range of mounting options and requires a maximum of only 2' of space above the ceiling for installation. Available in 15" and 19" travel distance while accommodating openings of up to 42 3/4" wide by 48" deep. Custom travel distances and special sizes available.

Four Steps to Selecting the Right Screen

  1. Screen Type
If choosing a screen for a multi-purpose room, select an electrically operated screen and use in combination with a projector lift. This combination allows for complete concealment of the products when not in use. Dedicated rooms are designed for specific installations that recreate a theater in a home. These rooms often require fixed screen systems that are built directly into the cabinetry or acoustic room treatments.
  2. Screen Size
The best performance is achieved by determining the correct size. Ideally, the screen size should occupy a minimum of a 30° field of view for the audience. The rule of thumb is to use a screen width that is approximately one half the distance from the screen to the audience seating. Screen placement should be determined according to the sightlines of the installation. This will allow all members of the audience to see the screen.
  3. Screen Size
Select the appropriate format for the application. Common formats and their formulas are as follows:
  4. Screen Surface
Many factors must be considered when choosing which screen surface best meets the needs of a custom installation. Seating configuration, projector model and type as well as ambient light are all factors that must be considered. This is why Da-Lite offers a diverse selection of screen surfaces to meet the needs of different environments.
    • Da-Mat
A smooth, white, vinyl surface that provides an exceptionally wide angle of view with no loss of resolution. It evenly distributes light over a wide viewing area while colors remain bright and life-like, with no shifts in hue. This material is designed to be used with projection where ambient light is controllable.
      Gain: 1.0 Viewing angle: 50°
