MPS-2510 SYSTEM

Typical Applications
  • Medium size control rooms (room volume of approximately 3,000 cubic feet or a monitoring distance of three to twelve feet)
  • Multi-channel music
  • Broadcast, and film sound production

Main Speaker MPS-2510

The MPS-2510 is a compact reference monitor, certified by THX for pm3 applications. The MPS-2510 is in use at many of today's most high-profile studios, including Skywalker Ranch, where it has been used for many of their most important projects. Back panel switches allow the user a choice of two vertical directivity modes, plus an option to create a vertical array by stacking the speakers, either for higher SPL or for coverage in larger rooms. Narrow vertical directivity mode gives the most focused sound at the main monitoring position. Wide mode is ideal when there is more than one row of listeners.

Surround Speaker MPS-2525

Accompanying the MPS-2510 is the MPS-2525 Tripole™ Surround. The MPS-2525 matches the MPS-2510 in output, timber and overall sound quality. The M&K Professional proprietary Tripole™ surround speaker design can deliver both image specificity and an enveloping sound quality, as it is essentially two speakers in one cabinet. Users can compare the sound of a direct radiating speaker (identical to the main speaker) to the sound of a dipole with the flick of a switch on a remote switcher. With a single pair of surround speakers, engineers can evaluate how their mixes will sound when played back on direct radiating, dipole, or an array of surround speakers.

Subwoofer MPS-5310

The MPS-5310 amplified subwoofer makes this monitoring system truly full range (20 Hz - 20 kHz). It features MIller & Kreisel Professional's Push-Pull Dual Driver technology to virtually eliminate even-order harmonic distortion - revealing low frequency details that are masked by other subwoofers. The MPS-5310 also features M&K's Headroom Maximizer Circuit, which lets the full uncompressed dynamics of the mix to be heard up to the subwoofer's capacity while preventing amplifier clipping and distortion. M&K's Deep Bass sealed-box design produces significant deep bass output, wiyh an in-room response flat to frequencies well below 20 Hz. Unlike subwoofers with vented cabinets, which have an extremely sharp rolloff (24 dB per octave or more) below the lower limit of their "flat" response, the MPS-5310 reproduces bass frequencies below 20 Hz with excellent transient response, accuracy, and an authority that other subwoofers cannot match.

Optional Center Speaker MPS-1520

Due to vertical space limitations, there may be times when a lower profile speaker is necessary. The MPS-1520's compact design makes it an ideal match for this application. However, it will be the limiting factor in this system's maximum playback level. The MPS-1520 uses two 5.25" polypropylene Mid-Woofers and a 1" soft-dome Ferrofluid tweeter, and matches the MPS-2510 in timber and overall sound quality. The MPS-1520 uses M&K's high performance Ferromagnetic Shielding System to insure that no interference with CRT's, magnetic media, or other equipment will occur.

Optional Suggested SubwooferMPS-5410

Miller & Kreisel Professional offers an additional subwoofer option for the MPS-2510 System, the MPS-5410, a 400 watt dual 12" subwoofer.

Miller & Kreisel Professional products are backed by an industry leading 10 year parts and labor warranty on all passive speakers and a 10 year / 5 year parts and labor warranty on all amplified speakers.

MPS-2550 SYSTEM

Typical Applications
  • Medium size control rooms (room volume of approximately 3,000 cubic feet or a monitoring distance of three to twelve feet)
  • Multi-channel music
  • Mastering, and film sound production

Main Speaker MPS-2550

Designed in cooperation with Fotokem Film & Video in Burbank, CA, the MPS-2550 is a compact monitoring system that is designed for reference level playback in large control rooms and dubbing suites, in addition to high level music monitoring. The MPS-2550 design is derivative of the critically acclaimed MPS-2510, but augments that design with two additional 6.5" drivers mounted on either side of the cabinet. These two additional woofers provide an added 3 to 6 dB of output and greatly reduce low frequency distortion at high output levels. As with the MPS-2510, the MPS-2550 features switchable vertical directivity and an array / stacking option for maximum SPL.

Surround Speaker MPS-2575

Accompanying the MPS-2550 main channel speaker is the MPS-2575 Tripole™, a high output surround that uses no less than 13 drivers! The MPS-2575 matches the MPS-2550 in output, timber, and overall sound quality. Miller & Kreisel Professional's proprietary Tripole™ surround speaker design can deliver both image specificity and an enveloping sound quality, as it is essentially two speakers in one cabinet. Users can compare the sound of a direct radiating speaker (identical to the main speaker) to the sound of a dipole with the flick of a switch on a remote switcher. With a single pair of surround speakers, engineers can evaluate how their mixes will sound when played back on direct radiating, dipole, or an array or surround speakers.

Optional Center Speaker MPS-1520

Due to vertical space limitations, there may be times when a lower profile speaker is necessary. The MPS-1520's compact design will make it a good match for this application. However, it will be the limiting factor in this system's maximum playback level. The MPS-1520 uses two 5.25" polypropylene Mid-Woofers and a 1" soft-dome Ferrofluid tweeter, and matches the MPS-2510P in timber and overall sound quality. The MPS-1520 uses M&K's high performance Ferromagnetic Shielding System to insure that no interference with CRT's, magnetic media, or other equipment will occur.

Optional SubwoofersMPS-5410

Miller & Kreisel Professional offers three additional subwoofer options for the MPS-2510P System. These include the MPS-5420, a 400 watt Backfire™ dual 12" subwoofer; the MPS-5410, a 400 watt dual 12" subwoofer; and the MPS-5320, a 350 watt Backfire™ dual 12" subwoofer. All three are designed to complete this truly full-range monitoring system (20Hz-20kHz) and feature M&K Professional's Push-Pull Dual Driver technology. Each also features the Headroom Maximizer circuit, which lets the full uncompressed dynamics of the mix to be heard up to the subwoofer's capacity while preventing amplifier clipping and distortion.
